for International Institute for Nanotechnology
The International Institute for Nanotechnology (IIN) catalyzes and supports world-class interdisciplinary nanoscience research to address the world's most pressing problems in medicine, the environment, information technology, energy, homeland security, food and water safety, and transportation. Established in 2000, the IIN currently represents and unites over $1 billion in nanotechnology research, educational programs and infrastructure. The IIN has also created an innovation ecosystem that efficiently moves technologies form the laboratory to the marketplace. To-date, researchers at the IIN have developed over 1800 products and services which have been commercialized worldwide. Twenty companies have been launched based on technologies developed by IIN researchers and these companies have attracted more than $700 million in venture capital.
