for Center for Historical Studies
The Center for Historical Studies stimulates ongoing conversation among faculty members and graduate students at Northwestern University who interpret historical materials.
Each year the Center organizes a number of lectures by historians from outside the university community who are currently producing innovative scholarship. These speakers are drawn from all regions and periods. The goal of these events is to explore major issues of common concern for historians and other academics who think historically, such as argumentation, evidence, narrative, methodology, and theory.
