The Segal Design Institue announces a lecture on a new wind turbine technology.  The Spiral Magnus Wind Turbine, developed by Mecaro, employs the Magnus Effect: lift generated by spinning cylinders in a wind stream.  The result is a wind turbine that achieves higher efficiencies in lower wind speeds than traditional wind turbines.  The lower operating speeds make it noiseless and non-threatening to migrating birds.

Nobuhhiro Murakami, the CEO of Mecaro, will discuss the design of the Spiral Magnus Wind Turbine.
