Group Asian and Middle East Studies
Chinese vocal and opera acts, folk dances, acrobatic acts and instrumental performances by contemporary Chinese masters and others performers from some of the finest academies in China, including Beijing's China Conservatory, China National Opera Troupe, China National Symphony Orchestra, China Traditional Opera College, North Kunqu Troupe, Beijing Acrobatic Troupe and Beijing Dance College. The two-night gala is presented jointly by the U.S.-China Peoples Friendship Association-Chicago Chapter and Yellow River Performing Arts U.S.A., in association with the Northwestern University Asian and Middle East Studies Program and professors in the China studies areas of Chinese language, history, political science, religion and art history. General admission is $12, with select seating priced from $20 to $50, or $5 for Northwestern University students with valid WildCARD IDs.
