SUMMARY:Introduction to Mindfulness: A Four-Part Workshop (Chicago Campus)
DESCRIPTION:Mindfulness meditation is an empirically-supported practice that can decrease stress\, anxiety\, and depression through the cultivation of present-moment awareness\, clarity\, and acceptance. Research on Mindfulness meditation has also shown that it can decrease blood pressure\, improve immune function\, and relieve chronic pain. Participants in this 4-week workshop will be introduced to a number of mind-body self-regulatory skills designed to improve concentration and decrease reactivity to distressing thoughts\, emotions\, and physical sensations. The Introduction to Mindfulness workshop series will be held a number of different times this quarter on the Chicago Campus. Location:&#160;Abbott Hall\, 5th Floor\, 710 N.
