The EECS Department welcomes Dr. Josh Reiss, Senior Lecturer with the Centre for Digital Music at Queen Mary University of London.
Dr. Reiss will speak on Tuesday August 21 at 11:00 a.m. in the ITW Auditorium of the Ford Building.
Abstract: We describe recent research towards the creation of intelligent software tools for both live sound mixing and audio post-production. Multichannel signal processing is usually concerned with extracting information about sources from several received signals. Instead, our tools are based on multitrack audio effects where the relationships between the different tracks are analyzed in order to manipulate and combine the content. Our approach exploits in-depth understanding of best practices in sound engineering, and recent advances in psychoacoustics.
