The global health seminar series sponsored by the Center for Global Health will be open to all FSM students and faculty but participation is required of all medical students who will complete an away-rotation or other global health project in ’12-’13. The seminar is organized to offer a broad range of engaging lectures and discussion on relevant global health topics from experts in the FSM community and the schedule is designed to offer flexibility to medical students who are expected to attend three of the six seminar sessions.
* Seminars 1 and 6 will present the same content. Students should only attend one of the two.
Session 6 – “Infectious Disease in Resource Limited Setting” – Wednesday, December 5, 5-6:30PM. Location TBD.* (Same content as Seminar 1 on September 12)
An overview of the epidemiology, microbiology, diagnosis, and treatment of HIV, TB, and Malaria and infectious diseases’ effect on public heal th systems in resource-limited settings in sub-Saharan Africa, SE Asia, and Latin America. (Same content as Seminar 1 on September 12)
