The 2012-13 competition in the Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships (http://www.woodrow.org/newcombe) is open. These fellowships are available to Ph.D. candidates in the humanities and social sciences who are writing dissertations on topics involving religious and ethical values; the focus is on the final year of dissertation writing, as the intent is to support dissertation completion.

For the upcoming competition, at least 21 fellowships of $25,000 will be offered. Applications are due on November 15, 2012, with awards to be announced in spring 2013 for use in the 2013-14 academic year.
