Creating an effective teaching philosophy and portfolio is a challenging but increasingly important part of preparing for the job market. In this workshop, we will reflect on how to craft a distinctive teaching statement grounded in your disciplinary practice as well as discuss the components of a teaching portfolio that best communicate your teaching approaches to prospective employers.
Please note this workshop will take place at the Graduate Student Commons, located at 2122 Sheridan Road. From the The Graduate School website: "Enter through the door marked "2122 Sheridan" on the south side of the building (Garrett driveway-facing). Follow building signs to "2nd floor classrooms." Enter through the door that leads to Registrar classrooms on 2nd floor. Please do not enter building from Sheridan Road or through the door with the "600 Haven Street" address."
Nancy Ruggeri is Associate Director of Graduate Student Development at the Searle Center for Teaching Excellence.
