Title: Optical properties of strongly in-plane asymmetric epitaxial nanostructures
Abstract: There will be presented optical properties of two groups of novel nanostructures with their characteristicstrong elongation in one of the lateral dimensions. These are large and in-plane asymmetric InGaAs/GaAsquantum dots (QDs) and the so called quantum dashes of InAs-InP material system. Both have beeninvestigated systematically by a spectroscopic manner, in sense of the entire ensemble and on the singlequantum dot level, and will be compared with respect to their fundamental electronic, optical and kineticproperties.
