A proponent of scientific accuracy in television and film, Dr. Donna Nelson -technical advisor to the Emmy-Award-winning series "Breaking Bad"- will come to Northwestern to discuss her role and experiences with the show. Dr. Nelson is a professor of chemistry at the University of Oklahoma. She earned her Ph.D. in chemistry at the University of Texas and has been a Visiting Professor at MIT, UC-San Diego, and UT-Austin. The American Chemical Society (ACS) has appointed her to its national Committee on Public Relations and Communications. In this role, she provides expert advice to the ACS on communicating science to the public. Dr. Nelson is an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Fellow, ACS Fellow, Guggenheim Fellow, and Fulbright awardee.
