Neighborhood Effects and the New Social Transformation of the American City.  By Harvard Professor Robert Sampson.

In collaboration with this year’s One Book One Northwestern program focusing on the city of Chicago – Sociologist Robert Sampson will discuss his book, Great American City: Chicago and the Enduring Neighborhood Effect. Sampson will also discuss trends and changes generally in American cities, examining what cities are thriving (New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, etc.) and what cities are on decline (Detroit, St. Louis)
