Led by Bruce Ankenman, McCormick Professor of Teaching Excellence, Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Science

In Winter of 2013, Bruce offered a hybrid online/in-class course in engineering statistics course that focused on using data for decision making in a design setting.  He used online lectures and quizzes to allow for time to do various in-class activities.  Bruce will present the course components and an analysis of the success of each. Ultimately, the piece of the course that had the most impact was the use of online laboratory exercises that resulted in students producing their own video segments, which were both enlightening and entertaining.  In this roundtable, participants will discuss the benefits and challenges of teaching in a hybrid context.

Feel free to bring your lunch; light refreshments will be provided.
