Description:

The Jack Kent Cooke (JKC) Foundation's Graduate Arts Award enables students or recent alumni with exceptional artistic or creative promise in the visual arts, performing arts, and creative writing and with financial need to pursue up to three years of study at an accredited graduate institution in the US or abroad.  Awards can be as much as $50,000 annually.  In 2013, the Foundation will select up to 15 recipients for this award.

The award provides funding for tuition, room and board, required fees, and books.  Scholarship amounts vary based on several factors, including cost at the institution each recipient attends and other grants and scholarships the student receives. 

Students interested in the program must first contact Northwestern's Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Faculty Representative, Elizabeth Pardoe, to express interest and to apply and may not apply directly to the Foundation. Each college or university may nominate up to two students to be considered for this award.

In order to be considered for NU nomination, materials must be submitted for Phase 1 via the JKC online application directly.

Materials to be submitted:
**Portfolio with desriptions and a summary
**Short application including demographics, GPA, and other basic information
**Financial information comprising of the last three years' AGI for yourself and for your parent(s) if you are under 30 years of age.
