Dr. Julie Payne-Kirchmeier, Assistant Vice President for Student Auxiliary Services

Dr. Julie Payne-Kirchmeier is a strategic, visionary leader who is committed to providing students with engaging experiences during their university careers. She has a passion for infusing the use of social media into many spaces – physical, virtual and experiential – so that students, faculty and staff can engage in a dynamic, on-line network that enhances their campus experiences. An ardent feminist, Julie also has research interests concerning women in higher education.

Julie earned her B.S. in Genetics and M.Ed. in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from A&M, and her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Administrations and Foundations from Indiana State University. She currently serves Northwestern University as the Assistant Vice President for Student Auxiliary Services, and as a graduate instructor in the masters program in higher education. A 16 year veteran of the student affairs profession, Julie has direct experiences with new student and family programs, first-year experience, learning support services, housing, dining, information technology, student affairs marketing, career services, student unions and auxiliary services
