The Northwestern University Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) provides integrated clinical and graduate research training for students interested in becoming physician scientists. The MSTP enables a select group of exceptional students who possess superior research and academic potential to simultaneously pursue the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. Graduates of the Northwestern University MSTP are selected for the most prestigious residency programs across the country, as they prepare for careers that typically combine basic or clinical research, clinical practice and teaching of medical students, graduate students, and resident physicians.
