On August 29, a final rule was released allowing flexibility for eligible providers (EPs), eligible hospitals (EHs), and critical access hospitals (CAHs) who are unable to fully implement 2014 Edition Certified Electronic Health Record Technology (CEHRT) for an EHR reporting period in 2014 due to delays in 2014 CEHRT availability. The rule will allow the use of 2011 Edition of CEHRT and 2013 Stage 1 Meaningful Use measures to attest in the 2014 fiscal/calendar year.
