Title: When leptons interact with gluons: flavor-changing neutral current transitions of muons and taus
Speaker: Alexey Petrov, Wayne State University
Abstract: Lepton flavor-violating processes offer interesting possibilities to probe new physics at multi-TeV scale. We discuss those in the framework of effective field theory, emphasizing the role of gluonic operators. We discuss constraints on the Wilson coefficients of those operators from muon conversion experiments and flavor-changing neutral current tau decays with one or two light hadrons in the final state, such as τ → η'μ, τ → ππμ and related transitions. To illustrate the results we discuss explicit examples of constraining parameters of leptoquark models.
