Description:

Join us for the first webinar in a 2-part series on best practices for measuring blood pressure. Michael Rakotz MD, Director of Chronic Disease Prevention at the American Medical Association, will lead a discussion for providers and office staff on blood pressure (BP) measurement techniques in the office environment.

Mike will explain why office blood pressure measurement is still important even though research has shown out-of-office BP measurement (home and 24 hour ambulatory BP) correlates better with outcomes. The three available in-office measurement techniques (Manual, Automated, AOBP) will be discussed along with the most common patient and observer errors. Mike will also share which method he believes is best for measuring BP and why. Q&A will follow the presentation.
