Dr. Garfield is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Medical Social Sciences.  He is a practicing pediatrician in the Division of Hospital Medicine at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.  His research focuses on understanding how to support parents in caring for their children in order to optimize child and family outcomes.  His current work focuses on the use of innovative technology to deliver personalize and appropriate health information and support to parents in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
