The grand-prize winner at the 2005 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Alexander Kobrin has performed with such celebrated orchestras as the New York Philharmonic, Tokyo Philharmonic, and Russian National Orchestra. Gramophone magazine has praised his playing as “memorably personal and stylish” and his interpretations as “boldly and vitally characterized.” He has appeared in recital at major venues worldwide, including the Louvre Auditorium and Salle Cortot in Paris, Albert Hall and Wigmore Hall in London, and Avery Fisher Hall in New York. Kobrin’s program includes music of Haydn, Schubert, and Rachmaninoff.
