Workshop Description:
In this workshop, you will identify and discover what critical thinking means in your discipline and in general. It will help you consider barriers to critical thinking commonly encountered in the classroom and also help you evaluate the appropriateness of various teaching tools to overcome these barriers and promote critical thinking in your discipline.
Workshop Facilitators:
Janet Bourne is a Ph.D. candidate in Music Theory and Cognition. She is currently writing a dissertation on how listeners use the cognitive process of analogy to make sense of musical patterns and infer musical communication.
Kyle Burke is a Ph.D. candidate in history who specializes in American politics, culture, and foreign policy in the post-World War II era.
