Religious Diversity and the Move Toward a World Theology
Do other forms of faith belong in some way to our own faith? Does our faith belong to a larger truth that we share with other religious traditions? If we answer yes to these questions, how are we to understand and live this shared truth? This seminar examines a new way of thinking about and becoming actively engaged in the religious pluralism of our world. It will also develop an interfaith dialogue to discuss the possibilities and difficulties involved in this new way of thinking. If time permits, it will look at historical situations and theological concepts that might help us see new possibilities for our relations to forms of faith other than our own.
Session is facilitated by Dr. Ardis Collins of Loyola University. Seminar meets Thursdays, April 9, 16, 23, and 30 at 7 pm. Special guests Dr. Claire Suffrin and Dr. Marcia Hermansen will share Jewish and Muslim perspectives.
Cost is free to students....$5 for Associates, Faculty, and staff...$25 for outside guests.
