I will discuss recent findings on the role of the transcription factors NFAT and AP-1 in CD8 T cells, and the use of a new technique, ATAC-seq, to interrogate T cell function in vivo. I will also discuss the role of the TET methylcytosine oxidases in limiting T cell proliferation and modulating the function of regulatory T cells.
