Awarded the 2014 Nobel Prize in Economics, Jean Tirole is chairman of the board of the Jean-Jacques Laffont Foundation at the Toulouse School of Economics, and scientific director of the Industrial Economics Institute (IDEI) in Toulouse. He will speak to NU students about how breakthroughs in industrial organization, game theory, and information economics led him to apply economic tools to crafting more effective systems of regulation.
