WCAS Student Alumni Engagement invites you to a Career Trek to Acquirent LLC. Meet WCAS alum and NU basketball player Joe Flanagan and learn what it takes to start your own business. Acquirent LLC is Joe's second multimillion-dollar business. Gain some insights into one of the nation's fastest growing businesses and what it takes to start and grow your own business. This trek is open to all WCAS students, whether you are a first year student starting career exploration or a senior who is job searching.

Joe Flanagan is a successful entrepreneur who turned his ability to sell, and his understanding of building relationships into a multi-million dollar business. After five years of working at a large, international insurance brokerage, Joe struck out on his own at the age of 27. He built JP Flanagan Corporation, his own insurance agency, into one of Chicago’s largest, with offices throughout the country. In 2001 he sold his company to Hub International. In 2003 Flanagan started Acquirent with a simple vision: provide greater sales infrastructure and lower the cost of sales for small to mid-sized companies. Today, Acquirent is a leading provider of outsourced sales solutions for companies ranging from small software startups to Fortune 500 companies.

LUNCH, PREP AND TRANSPORTATION: Meet at 1908 Sheridan Road at 11:30am SHARP. We will walk to Acquirent together.

ATTIRE: Business casual attire (NO JEANS, but suits are not required). Please look professional, clean, and polished.

WHAT TO BRING: Please think about what kinds of questions you might want to ask the alumni we meet with (as the date approaches sample questions will be distributed). I also recommend bringing paper and something to write with.

MOST IMPORTANTLY: If you RSVP that you will attend, you must attend (barring emergency scenarios). Our talented alumni are VERY busy and have dedicated a portion of their day to YOU. Please be professional and take seriously your committment to participate.
