Strokes affect over 700,000 Americans each year and are the leading cause of severe, long-term disability in the US. The direct and indirect health care costs associated with strokes are significant. The goal of the program is to provide information on the state-of-the-art therapies for the treatment and management of cerebrovascular disease. The program will highlight the recent advances in the diagnosis, treatment and management of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke, the clinical research in stroke prevention and treatment, and the interdisciplinary approach to stroke care.
