Northwestern University joined Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) in 2014 with organizational representation from the Institute of Sustainability and Energy at Northwestern (ISEN). Founded by President Bill Clinton in 2007, CGI U networks the innovation talents of students from more than 300 universities across the globe to foster student-led actions that address sustainability issues impacting communities around the world.
Students will form teams and submit "Commitments to Action" in one of five key focus areas: education, the environment and climate change, peace and human rights, poverty alleviation, and public health. In 2015, 11 multidisciplinary NU teams attended the CGI U coference.
You DO NOT need to have your own idea for a Commitment to Action to attend!
Please join ISEN for one of two info sessions to learn about the program and hear from past participants: Sept 29 from 12pm- 1pm or Sept 30 from 5pm-6pm in Chambers Hall, Lower Level, 600 Foster St. Evanston, IL 60208
We'll see you there!
