Teaching a course? Preparing to teach? Seeking a faculty position?

Please join us to learn about an exciting professional development opportunity!

CIRTL at Northwestern welcomes graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to learn more about the Searle Teaching-As-Research (STAR) program, an initiative to improve undergraduate learning. Program participants are guided through the process of developing an evidence-based project in their disciplines within the context of a supportive community of practitioners. STAR affords graduate students and postdocs the opportunity to design and evaluate curricular innovations and advance their own teaching practices. This informational session will cover program eligibility, benefits, and expectations. A former participant will discuss her experiences and invite questions. This year’s program will begin in January 2016.

See the STAR program website for more details, or join the first Teaching-As-Research event of the semester next Monday, October 5 at 3-4:30 PM.

Eligibility: The STAR program is open to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in STEM/SBE disciplines who are current or past participants in the Teaching Certificate Program offered by the Searle Center. Ideally, program participants will be teaching, co-teaching, or otherwise involved in a course in the winter or spring of 2016.
