Description:

Gail Williams, director

Come for a night of astronomy and music! Take a tour across the solar system, from the violent volcanoes of Venus, to the many moons of Jupiter, to the icy plains of Pluto. Astronomy visualizations are displayed onstage as the Bienen School of Music Brass Ensemble performs music from The Planets (Holst), Also sprach Zarathustra (Strauss), and more, bringing new life to the incredible science of our solar system. The program also includes the world premiere of Timothy Higgins' Sinfonietta. After the show (weather permitting), join Northwestern astronomers on the Arts Green West for a view through a telescope. All ages welcomed.

This program was created by Physics & Astronomy graduate student Kyle Kremer and the event is supported by ASG’s Wild Ideas Fund, The Colburn School's New Venture Competition, and CIERA, Northwestern's Center for Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics.
