Workshop Description:
We all strive for critical thinking in STEM, but what exactly does it mean and how can we measure it in the classroom? This workshop will discuss different approaches to and assessment methods for critical thinking, as well as the importance of critical thinking beyond academia. Each participant will leave the workshop with specific and relevant strategies for promoting critical thinking in his or her classroom.
Workshop Facilitators:
Pradeep Bugga is a sixth-year Ph.D. candidate in Chemistry studying cell adhesion and migration through surface chemistry approaches. Pradeep is a current Graduate Teaching Mentor.
Renee French is a sixth-year Ph.D. student in Earth and Planetary Sciences studying tectonic features on the Moon and crustal magnetization of Mars. Renee is a current Graduate Teaching Fellow.
*This is part of our CIRTL at Northwestern Workshop Series which is aimed at graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in STEM.
