Description:

Microbiology-Immunology Seminar Series

"We will discuss the gene products that enable bacterial pathogens to prosper within their hosts. In addition to the well characterized virulence factors, which promote pathogenicity, I will describe anti-virulence factors, which, paradoxically, decrease pathogenicity. We will how a pathogen “knows" when, where and for how long virulence and anti-virulence factors are made and active."
