Description:

Legendary producer, writer, director, and Northwestern alumnus Garry Marshall will be joining us on campus Tuesday, May 10 to screen his brand-new film, Mother's Day, and participate in a post-movie Q&A moderated by Radio/Television/Film lecturer and writer Zina Camblin.

Marshall has directed more than 18 blockbuster films, including Pretty Woman, Beaches, and Overboard, and has produced some of television's most beloved sitcoms, such as Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy and The Odd Couple. Additionally he has written numerous nationally produced plays and directs both live theatre and opera. Mother's Day is his most recent project, which stars Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Jason Sudeikis, Kate Hudson, and many more.

The film follows several mothers (and a father) juggling life, loss, and parenthood. As Mother’s Day rolls around, each experiences the holiday with renewed appreciation and perspective. Like all of Marshall’s projects, audiences can expect laughs and perhaps a few tears.

We are honored and delighted to welcome Garry Marshall for this special event.

This event is free to students, faculty, staff, and alumni with registration (see "More Info") but seats are limited.
