Emily Graslie, The Brain Scoop & The Field Museum
Communicating Science of Museums through YouTube
In 2013, The Field Museum acquired “The Brain Scoop” –an educational YouTube channel hosted by Emily Graslie, which delves into the intricacies of natural history collections. In 3 years and 140+ videos, Emily and her team have worked with the Museum's research scientists to discuss topics ranging from deep-sea octopus reproduction to the age of the universe, and everything in-between. Join Emily as she talks about their content and delivery strategy when it comes to disseminating scientic research to the public, using a media better recognized for its cats.
