"I will discuss how the Ebola virus alters and evades immune responses, how this influences the severe disease caused by the deadly virus and our attempts to target these functions with the goal of developing antivirals. These studies address how filoviruses block beneficial immune responses and instead trigger damaging inflammation that often produces fatal outcomes."
