Revisiting Adorno and Black Expression
Fumi Okiji (Black Arts Postdoctoral Fellow, Departments of Performance Studies and African American Studies) in conversation with Alex Weheliye (Professor of African American Studies) and Anna Parkinson (Associate Professor of German).
How do you get Adorno to embrace jazz? Or, at the least, sit down and listen to what Coltrane has to say? Fumi Okiji presents material from her forthcoming book that stages this fantasy conversation between the critical theorist, and black expression and thought.
Lunch will be provided!
