Learn about water and the role it plays in our lives. From holding cultural and spiritual importance to being the focus of academic research or a subject for art, water holds far reaching importance to communities of all types.
Join us in this opportunity for Native American K-12 students and community members to visit the Evanston campus for an afternoon of activities surrounding water and its role in our lives. Get a feel for how academic science and knowledge making works as well as how Indigenous Ecological Knowledge is important to our understanding of the world and how it contributes to research on campus. Hear from community members, students and faculty about their work with water and its importance to their lives/spirituality/research. Participate in art making, discuss the personal importance of water in your lives and create art that reflects your experience.
