Rebecca Singer is a doctorally-trained nurse with over a decade of experience in global health in both humanitarian response and development. She has worked since 2005 with Doctors without Borders in Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Papua New Guinea, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe. Most of her work focused on the provision of care to survivors of violence, particularly sexual and family violence. In addition to providing care to patients, Rebecca has been active in developing advocacy reports that have led to changes in policy and practice in several countries, as well as in building capacity among health workers, social workers, law enforcement and government officials. Rebecca has also provided primary health care and emergency response services, including mass vaccination and epidemic response. Rebecca was also the Senior Program Officer at Grounds for Health where she implemented community-based cervical cancer prevention programming in coffee growing regions of Nicaragua, Peru and Tanzania and led the organization's research and publications efforts. She also served as the Executive Director of Coffee Kids, an organization devoted to improving the lives and livelihoods of coffee farmers.
