Mara Brock Akil (BSJ92) is writer, producer and creator of TV shows such as “Being Mary Jane,” “Girlfriends” and “The Game.” She will be honored with Medill's Hall of Achievement Award at a 2 p.m. ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 5 in the MFC Forum. Dean Hamm will present her with the award and then she will participate in an on-stage Q & A with Prof. J.A. Adande.
