Description:

Women and people of color remain underrepresented in many STEM fields, despite some efforts over the last few decades to broaden participation in these fields. The Topics in STEMinism series examines the various ways in which social and cultural contexts shape the experiences of women in male-dominated STEM fields. Join other Northwestern graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and staff on-campus as we participate in this series organized by the CIRTL Network. In each week of this CIRTLCast series, we discuss the unique challenges faced by women in their educational and career trajectories.

On October 11, We will strategize how to prepare for and navigate the job market given unique barriers to advancement that women face, and we will assess how institutions can respond. Guest women scientists will provide insights and strategies for thriving in academic and non-academic contexts. CIRTLCasts are on Wednesdays from 1-2pm, and will be followed by a short discussion led by Northwestern faculty or staff.

If you are unable to join us in person, you are welcome to register for the online event for free and attend on your own.
