The Department of Pharmacology Seminar Series will be presented by C. Shad Thaxton, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Urology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.


The Thaxton Lab has pioneered the synthesis and characterization of synthetic lipoprotein nanoparticles. This talk will cover the biology of high-density lipoproteins, the synthesis and characterization of functional nanoparticles that have some features of native HDLs, and how these agents are being used as targeted cancer therapy.
