Description:

The Ratio of Liver to Spleen (L/S ratio) for CT attenuation values is Associated with Incidence of Diabetes Mellitus - The Shiga Epidemiological Study of Subclinical Atherosclerosis (SESSA) with Keiko Fuse

There is a lack of research about the longitudinal relationship between the liver fat assessed with computed tomography (CT) and the incidence of diabetes mellitus.

In this research, lower L/S ratio assessed with CT was associated with incidence of diabetes mellitus during mean follow-up of 5.0 years in apparently healthy Japanese male population independent of demographics and behavioral factors. This association was, however, attenuated after adjusting for BMI, waist circumference, HbA1c, and fasting glucose levels at baseline.
