The world of adult medicine is a strange land to many of the adolescents and young adults whose care is transitioned to NMH. Clinicians accustomed to working with adults also struggle to understand the unique care needs of this patient population. The panel will share strategies for providing age-appropriate care, negotiating expectations, and supporting the emerging agency of young adults.
