Abstract: As the educational demands of PT education have escalated, so have the levels of student stress. This presentation will highlight the results of a longitudinal study documenting the trajectory of PT student emotional distress, burnout and disengagement as they progress through their doctoral education. Findings related to the impact of negative perfectionism and poor self compassion will also be discussed. Finally, the value of heart rate variability meditation will be explored as a potent intervention to enhance student resilience.
