When: Monday, September 17, 2018
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM CT

Where: Technological Institute, F160, 2145 Sheridan Road, Evanston, IL 60208 map it

Audience: Faculty/Staff - Student - Public - Post Docs/Docs - Graduate Students

Contact: Pamela Villalovoz   (847) 491-3644

Group: Physics and Astronomy High Energy Physics Seminars

Category: Academic

Description:

In this talk, I will illustrate how observation of lepton number violation affects the baryon asymmetry generation mechanisms in the context of effective operators. Then, I explore loop-induced short and long range contributions to neutrinoless double beta decay given a lepton number violating operator. Finally, an interesting connection among asymmetric dark matter, lepton number violation and high-scale baryogenesis/leptogenesis will be discussed.
