Description:

Part of the Robert M. and Maya L. Tichio Vocal Master Class Series

Pianist Warren Jones enjoys a notably eclectic career that has taken him to virtually every corner of the musical world. In 2010 Musical America named Jones Collaborative Pianist of the Year, and his collaborations have earned consistently high praise from many publications: The Boston Globe termed him "flawless" and "utterly ravishing,” and the San Francisco Chronicle said simply, "He is the single finest accompanist now working." He performs with some of today’s best-known artists, including Stephanie Blythe, Anthony Dean Griffey, Bo Skovhus, Eric Owens, John Relyea, and Richard “Yongjae” O’Neill, and he serves as principal pianist for the Santa Barbara-based chamber music group Camerata Pacifica. A longtime member of the Manhattan School of Music faculty, he received the 2011 Achievement Award from the Music Teachers National Association of America. Jones has also adjudicated the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and the Metropolitan Opera Auditions, among other competitions. For ten years he served as assistant conductor at the Metropolitan Opera, and he has led sold-out, critically-acclaimed performances of Mascagni’s L’amico Fritz, Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, and Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte.
