Black History Month Celebration at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI)

Join us for our third annual Black History Month Celebration! We will continue our tradition of honoring the achievements and contributions of African Americans with lecture, song, and storytelling. Our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Jabbar Bennett, will discuss the history of diversity at Northwestern, last year’s commemoration of the storming of the Bursar’s office, and the current university initiatives. In addition to Dr. Bennett we will enjoy storytelling by Emily Hooper-Lansana and musical performances by vocalist Geneva Norman and musician Babu Atiba Walker. Coffee and refreshments will be served. Open to OLLI members, their guest and the Northwestern Community. Registration required.

Keynote Speaker:
Jabbar Bennett, PhD serves as associate provost for diversity and inclusion at Northwestern University. In addition, he is an associate professor of medicine at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
