The Placenta: Early Development and Later Vascular Pathology

Background
The goals of this lecture are:
1. Understand the early development of the placenta at molecular, cellular, histologic, and gross organ levels. 2. Review the placental pathology resulting from uterine-placental vascular malperfusion. 3. Review the placental pathology resulting from obstruction to normal fetal-placental vascular perfusion.
