Creating an effective teaching statement and portfolio is a challenging but increasingly important part of preparing for the job market. Teaching Portfolio Boot Camp will consist of three 3-hour sessions. The first will provide an overview of teaching portfolios with a focus on redrafting a distinctive teaching statement. This statement should be grounded on your disciplinary practice, and provide a throughline for your portfolio. In the second and third sessions, you will assemble portfolio components, create and/or evaluate your overarching argument for teaching effectiveness, and receive peer feedback. At the end of the three-day bootcamp, you should have a teaching portfolio that accurately reflects your teaching goals and motivations, and best communicates and evidences your teaching to prospective employers.

*Registrants are required to attend all sessions.*

Bootcamp Facilitator:
Nancy Ruggeri is the Director of Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Programs at Northwestern's Searle Center for Advancing Learning and Teaching.
