Professor Westlund earned her B.A. in philosophy and economics from the University of Winnipeg in 1994.  She went on to earn her M.A. in philosophy from Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) in 1995, and her PhD in philosophy from the University of Michigan in 2001.  She taught in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh from 2001-2003 before relocating to Milwaukee, and has held research fellowships at the UW-Milwaukee Center for 21st Studies and the UW-Madison Institute for Research in the Humanities.
